Pascal Granger (1964) studied at the University of Poitiers and obtained his Ph.D. degree in applied chemistry in 1992. His thesis was focused on the deactivation of copper based catalysts for biomass conversion in aqueous phase.

After a postdoctoral position at the University of Lille, he obtained a permanent position in 1994 and became full professor in 2003. He managed the surface analysis department of the University of Lille from 2009 to 2012. Now, he is head of the heterogeneous department of the Solid State and Catalysis Laboratory in Lille since 2009.

Research activities

Pascal Granger is currently involved in mechanism and kinetics of heterogeneous catalytic reactions and in the development of in situ and operando spectroscopic characterization especially for reactions involved in post-combustion catalysis and catalytic DeNOx and DeN2O abatement processes. His research interest is also focused on the use of perovskite for the development of low loaded noble metal based catalysts. He is author and co-author of more than 90 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and one book series entitled ‘Past and Present in DeNOx catalysis : From Molecular Modelling to Chemical Engineering’. He obtained two innovative Techniques for the Environment awards from the French Agency for the Sustainable Development (ADEME) in 2000 and in 2001 and the Lecture Prize of the French Chemical Society (Catalysis Division) in 2012.
